What we publish
Our articles answer focused household questions: whether an opened food belongs in the refrigerator, how a package affects freezing, when a safety clock starts, and how to distinguish quality loss from spoilage. We avoid nutrition treatment claims and do not replace advice from a health professional or local authority.
How we research
Each guide begins with the specific food and decision—not a reusable article template. Editors compare current guidance from food-safety agencies, agricultural universities, extension programs, postharvest researchers, producer instructions, and other relevant primary or specialist sources.
When a reliable number is available, we state it with its conditions. When packaging, recipe, climate, or manufacturer instructions change the answer, we explain that uncertainty rather than inventing a universal deadline.
Our editorial team
Freshly Kept uses one internal editor for each subject category. Editor names and illustrated profile images provide consistent ownership across the site; they represent the site’s editorial team and are not endorsements by the external organizations cited in an article.
Corrections and feedback
Food guidance changes and products differ. If you notice a broken source, unclear instruction, or factual concern, send the article title, page address, and a short description of the issue. We review material corrections and update the page date when a substantive change is made.
